Greece
We visited Karpathos island in July 2021. It has some of the top voted beaches of Greece, historical villages like Olympos, Menetes, Spoa and Mesochori. We rented a scooter that took us around the island for three weeks. It was hot weather and often strong winds during our drive through mesmerizing landscape of cliffs, pine forests, mountains and curvy roads. Add to this delicious food, pristine beaches with the clearest water you can imagine suitable both for surfers that can enjoy windy waters and beaches with more quiet calm waters.
2020 was a strange year with Covid19 making it impossible for many to travel around the world. We were lucky to be able to visit Lefkada as the restrictions were lifted and we saw this tourist paradise with far fewer tourists than it would normally have. The ocean was as blue as can be. We would love to go back one day.
