Imagine some beautiful places around our planet, being picked up and placed on one single island. This is a summary of our experiences with Gran Canaria’s most diverse nature and what made us feel like we had visited several different countries, by spending a few days on this island alone!

Welcome to our latest exploration at Seenbyveen.com! Today, we're taking you on a road trip along the breathtaking coastline of Gran Canaria, from the charming town of Agaete to the shores of La Aldea.

We visited the south of Gran Canaria, and after a short visit in Maspalomas we continued through Puerto Rico and then ended up in the picturesque marina of Port de Mogán.

35 years ago one of us visited Puerto Rico in southern Gran Canaria and it was touristic already back then. Of course we needed to visit the south to see how it looked now and what the hype is all about.

On December 23 we flew from Kalmar in southern Sweden to Gran Canaria, Spain. The flight took 5 hours and 20 minutes and we landed in Las Palmas at 8.50 in the evening.

With upcoming holidays it is a perfect time for a little vacation and recharge our batteries after months of busy work at the office. So while our BMW GS1200 is recharging it’s battery in the garage - we will leave it behind this time and have rented a Honda NC 750X DCT to take us around the island of Gran Canaria

Agios Nikolaos beach in Spoa is located on the Greek island of Karpathos. Here you find crystal clear water for swimming and snorkling during the summer. On the west coast of Karpathos island, Greece, you find the beautiful little fishing village of Finiki. With it’s famous tavernas next to a little beach and harbour it makes it a perfect holiday destination. Here you find clear water and great food surrounded by a unique landscape and fewer tourists. Arkasa is another little village right next to Finiki that offers a beach that is popular for surfers due to it’s stronger winds.

Menetes is a small historical village on Karpathos, Greece which offers a few tavernas and traditional buildings. The locals gather for socializing over a cup of coffee and sweet baklava cake.

The island of Karpathos, Greece is the second largest of the greek Dodecanese islands, in the south eastern Aegean sea. We spent three weeks exploring this amazing island that offers beautiful beaches with crystal clear water for snorkling, traditional villages, high mountains, pristine landscape and rich history. This island really took us by storm and we will explain why.
